A provider is

an individual or company that sells software, hardware or services to an organization in the technology management chain

A provider can be categorized based on following factors:

• How aligned provider's offering is to organization's strategy? e.g. a digital banking platform vendor may have a strategic alignment with the strategy of a digital bank
