Role
Role defines the part a stakeholder will play in the organization
Role is
"..the position assigned to a stakeholder in the organization"
An organization has many roles. Each person may have multiple role or one role may be assigned to multiple persons. As such, there is a many-to-many relationship between organizational stakeholders. Some examples are below:
Chief Executive Office (CEO) - only one
Chief Information Officer (CIO) - can be multiple for different lines of business
Project Manager - many
Board member - many
Call Center Agent - many
Roles are different from responsibilities which are specific tasks or duties that team member are assigned to perform in line with their roles.
Impact and Influence of Role of a Stakeholder
Impact - The positive or negative impact of their decisions or the ability to bring a change. For example, a stakeholder in a role may have a strong ability to bring a change but may have lost the influence to persuade others. In this case the impact may be high but influence may be low.
Influence of the Role - The power a stakeholder has to facilitate or impede the achievement of an activity's objective. The extent to which the stakeholder is able to persuade or coerce others into making decisions, and following a certain course on action. For example, a stakeholder may have strong influence to persuade others but have no decision making position or bring a change herself. In this case the influence may be high but impact is low.

RACI
RACI is a responsibility assignment matrix. It is used to describe the participation by various roles in the strategic process.
Responsible - Those who do the work to complete the task
Accountable - The one ultimately answerable for the correct and thorough completion of the deliverable or task
Consulted - Those whose opinions are sought
Informed - Those who are kept up-to-date on progress,
